Driveshaft Issue

Dear All, Bit of a panic really and maybe for no reason. i have changed the suspension on a 89 1.9. in the process the front hubs and shafts have been moved and obviously disturbed at the diff end. i did off side and then near side. The car is not a runner yet but I can't seem to turn the off side hub and if i put in in gear and turn the engine by hand only the near side wheel turns. Suspension is all back on and hubs are just hangining by the strut.

 

Do i have a probelm.

 

The near side is jacked ...do you think i need to jack up off side up so it engagaes in the diff.

 

sorry i know is a bit basic but i didn't expect anything other than everything worked.

if the shafts are all the way in then you'll be fine, else you might have a leak

I sounds as if you could have pulled the cv joint apart. Jack the car up and have a good look at the cv joints on the off side.

 

I did this ones when rushing and did manage to get everything back together but the drivers wheel was very hard to turn. I had to remove the hub and re align the cv joint, luckily it came back in and all was ok
