Gti-6/vts Inlet Manifold

Recommended Posts

Hi ,

Following on from a comment in a recent post regarding shortened inlet manifolds, is it possible to use a Gti-6/VTS inlet manifold for a 205/Mi16 conversion and does this help with any of the issues concerning rad clearance?

Any ideas?

Thanks,

James

Yes, you can use one on an Mi16, I have. But I only fitted one as I got fed up with worn Mi16 throttle bodies and I had a spare VTS inlet in the garage. You still have to overcome the same issues as fitting a standard Mi16 inlet and more as you have to reroute the oil filler & air intake, and modify the GTi6 TB for Mi16 management.

Why is fitting a standard Mi16 inlet so hard? Trim the rad fan shroud and shave a little off the bottom of the inlet. When I converted my 205 many moons ago, Anthony 'did' take a picture of a shaved rad fan shroud. You do take a fair bit off it, but its pretty easy. Tilt the rad and secure with cable ties :D

Hi,

Thanks for your reply, no issue with trimming cowling - this is what I've done at the moment. I was just looking for a more professional looking finish.

Cheers,

James
