Removed Both Drive Shafts

hello been a bit of an idiot an removed both drive shafts then read in the manual you shouldn't. how bad is it if the bearing has dropped and how do you know if it has? the splines seem to still be in place ?? any help on this would be appreciated.

You'd be very unlucky, it was only the very early gearboxes that you had to be careful with irc.

The warning only applies to the early GTI gearboxes. Before about 1986 I think.

ive never had an issuse when removing both shafts
