Hey guys, not been on here for a while.

Sold my old 1.9 GTI as it broke, i was so upset to see my baby go. I baught myself bigger cars to compensate the heartbreak...i had an mr2 gti, bmw 320i e36 and then another MR2 but that had issues and ive had to sell it...left with no car i was starting to get depressed until a friend of mine calls me and offers me another 1900 205....i dont think i can resist. out of all the cars i have had since my pug, thats the car that sticks more than any. oh how i miss my little 205. i think its time for my return to one of the best cars ever built,

this is just one big HOORAY for the 205 GTI!

:D. ill add pics when i have picked her up

You have made the right choice. Out of all 6 cars I have owned, the 205 is by far the best

Has she put on the 1.9 speedline wheels yet, everytime i see her she tells me she has them and is going to put them on and never does. She just likes talking about your pug, i have yet to see yours!

James, i havent picked it up yet, im getting it cheap so i havent looked too much into it, mate says its near mint and all i know is its a red 1.9, so i recon itll be a phase 1.5 as i dont recall many of the phase 1's being 1900, most of them were 1600.

she is still rolling on the 1.6 ones, i cant see what her problem is with them as i went for a blast down to mc'ds with her on sunday and the old girl is a right chuckle to drive.

them 1.9s she keeps going on about belong to my bro and i dont think he is going to be giving them up in a hurry, she does have a spare set of 1.6s i did say about getting them refurbed in black but as always she thinks she knows best.

some pics of hers (with mine in the backgorund :D )

Haven't seen a black 1.6 GTi on pepperpots and orange indicators since the early 90s! They seemed to be the car of choice back then for boy racers, and I think thought they had all been thrashed to death. Really nice to see a tidy looking one. She should keep it on pepperpots, keep it original, keep it retro.

im aiming to get it back on the road this year, im in the middle of moving house (got the keys on tuesday ^_^ ) so once i get settled i will be on the 205. but now that ive got a workshop and garage im unsure if i should take on the work or just give my car to Miles to sort out, im still not sure on what to do with her, fit the engine or just bin it and get another one.

sure me and james can whip the engine out and back in pretty quickish plus work out all the other niggles you have with it.

like wiring etc.

i would get a new complete engine minus manifolds etc and do it that way, you could sell yours on for a rebuild to make some cash back

where is the workshop then mate?

its not a workshop as such more a concrete garage with a wood shed type extension on the side, with a pit, full power and water with steel beams and a hoist.

like with everything theres but, it needs a new roof, the wood extension needs new pannels and lock on the garage door needs replacing.

oh and like sarah has reminded me afew times the house needs some work... but thats not important

£100 less than what we where paying in folkestone, and we have gained the workshop, a extra bedroom, a garden, conservatry, dinning room and a outhouse/untilaty room. work is 5mins walk one way and the local school is 2mins walk the other.

just trying to move all our crap using the 306, mothers land rover and my sisters 205.

now on day no3 :)
