Recommended Posts

Ive got an oil leak from around the bottom of the dipstick tube where it connects to the engine - the little connector piece seems to be loose. Anyone got any ideas on how to cure/botch this ?

Just FYI, they are not screwed in, they are a friction fit - just pushed into the block.

So does that mean I should just be able to "whack" it back in successfully ?

no, if you can move it it sounds like the bracket that its bolted to the head with is either broken or missing its bolt, next to the exhaust manifold.

bracket is part of the tube, bolt is just a normal M8 one.

it is a friction fit in the block, with the tab at the top to steady it.
