Rev Gauge Fluttering

High I own a 91 DTURBO 1.8 and randomly the rev needle decides to flutter up and down...anyone know what this could be?

The speedo does it at certain speeds a little too

Rev counter is probably the flywheel pickup or wiring, and is pretty common on 205 diesels - often the counter just stops altogether randomly.

 

Speedo is a totally mechanical setup on 205's so won't be related to the above, and it's probably the speedo cable drying out and sticking - usually causes the needle to shake, particularly at lower speeds. Sometimes worn speedos or the speedo drive cogs on the side of the diff can do this as well, but the cable is the most common by far.

Is the flywheel pick up the same as it is on the XUD9TE (the 1.9 DT)? There's lots of them at the scrappy
