Wipers Stopped Working

Recommended Posts

Retro Pug

As the thread title my wipers have stopped working!! I've tried the usual parts but still no good.

I've replaced the wiper motor with a new 106 one, the relay is new from Peugeot today and I replaced the switch with one from ebay.

The rear wiper works fine as does the front washers but the front wiper refuses to play ball. When ever I try them the volage drops and the radio turns off? I've just tried to have a look at the fuse box but its too dark I can feel some heat coming from some of the wires in the fuse box - is this normal?

Can anyone offer some help/advice?

Cheers

John.

smithy

Seized linkage??? Quite common for the spindles to seize inside plastic tubes.

I've had another look tonight and the motor and linkages are fine when given a direct live from the battery. I think the issue is somewhere in the fusebox as there are now some strange smells and noises coming from it!!

As I don't have the time right now to give it the attention it needs I'll be taking it to an auto electrician tomorrow. I'll post the outcome so hopefully if it affects someone else they'll have more luck than me. :)
