Baker Bush Group N Engine Mounts

Recommended Posts

Basset

Hi. I'm fitting an mi16 engine in my 205, I've read that an uprated lower engine mount is needed, I was looking at using a full set of group n mounts from baker bush, has anyone used these? Are they any good? Does a full kit make it to stiff and vibrate the car etc? Am I better off just uprating the bottom mount? The car is going to be used for road use any advise would be appreciated,

Cheers

Rob

Personally I would say the upper mounts cause quite a bit of vibration as my brother fitted some to his 205 at one point, however they do settle down over time, so I am told.

They're great. ;)

You'll find lots of feedback about them in the past if you use the search function i'm sure. :)

They are great as long as they actually send you all tge right bits!!! I've been waiting over 6 months for the 2 little side buffers for the top drivers side engine mount!!

Was promised they would be sent out when back in stock and never recvd anything, sent numerous emails with no reply!!!

So be careful!!!

I ordered 2 sets of hoses for Mi205, a set of Mi205 engine mounts and an extra coolant hose last 2 years iirc. They all arrived pretty on time unless the first time for the hoses because the address I gave was not complete, so the hoses came to Hong Kong somewhere and flew back to UK and then flew to my office at last. Baker managed not to charge me for resending somehow.

Yes he sometimes took a bit long to reply my e-mail but I still got the reply eventually.

i use them in my rally car, i dont think the vibration is too bad and they actually transformed the handling on turn in compared to the old, split items. also anything i ever bought was recived on time and all the bits were there, would definately reccomend them!

They are good, use the whole set in my road car (apart from the buffers, I kept standard)

They do indeed settle.

They are a vast improvement over standard.

Watch you dont strip the thread on the upper engine one. The metal is to soft imo and it doesnt take super human strength to chew it. This said it doesnt need to be wanged right up anyways.
