Oil Temp / Level Gauge

Recommended Posts

My 405 has this oil level gauge. Does this only show the oil level or can it be used as an oil temp sensor. Manual said something about switching the function when ignition is on or engine running. When I looked at the temp sensor there were no wires connected to it.

I know with 306 GTI's when the ignition is on the gauge acts as level then when the engine is running it is the oil temp gauge. Maybe similar.

Most probably it is. Although 205 and 405 share the same engine I don't know how similiar their wiring is. What colour is the temp sensor wire in 205 and from what multiplug does it come?

Oil level sensor wires went to a brown multiplug(wires 224 and 225 if I remember). Tried to find the temp sensor wire 30 C, but no luck. Seems that in 405 this gauge has only one function instead of two. Maybe only mi16 versions had that function.
