Another 306 Hdi Issue....

The 306 Hdi started making this loud buzzing noise this morning, thats sounds like it coming from the fuel filter! It doesnt make the noise all the time, and the engine doesnt need to be running for it to make the noise, just the ignition in the position to start fuel pump. I read on a 306 forum its just pipes vibrating... I find this hard to believe, my feeling its the lift pump.. Would this going tits make a noise like this?

 

Any suggestions?

 

Its all desgined to take my time away from fixing the 205!

It could be the lift pump starting to fail, they do get clogged up as I found out when I stripped mine last month.

 

Change the fuel filter & see if there are any metal filings in the bowl, that's a sure sign the lift pump is dead.
