Insurance

I took out a motor insurance policy with a large insurance company beginning with the letter A as my insurance was coming to an end. I receive all the papers through all fine, then a few days later I receive a renewal price and another welcome pack for a price that is much less than what i have already paid I did not know of their automatic renewal policy ( I was already a customer of theirs ) so now have 2 certificates of motor insurance one for a renewal and the other "New business", with the date of insurance approaching (8th March) i'm keen to know where i stand legally until Monday morning when i can phone them

Depends how you bought the second policy, check the paperwork, if you bought online you should be able to easily cancel.

Yep I did it online even paying their cancellation fees it still works out a hell of a lot cheaper.

I am sure you get a 14 day cooling off period with most things insurance included

just cancel the more expensive one under the distance selling regulations. I know what you mean about the legal side of it (you cant have 2 policies on the same car). I would get it sorted asap but would be more worried if I had no insurance.
