Oil Cooler

Hi all,

 

Im fitting an oil cooler to my 205 gti6,

 

On removal of the old filter it became aparant that the threded bar was too short to take the sandwich plate,

 

So off to Peugeot and they got me a longer threaded bar that would have origanally been on the 306 engine with a heat excange unit but this is too long and does not have enough of thread on it so I cant even cut it.

 

Is there something im missing here or is there a middle size bar that will work?

You should have got an adaptor tube (threaded bar) with the cooler as the cooler is not a standard part. You might get away with using the tube off a 1.9 block with a oil cooler take off fitted as this will be longer than a standard tube but shorter than a gti6 oil to water one. Note they are all the same thread just the length vaires.
