Front Bumper Removal

Recommended Posts

NNPUT

Hi Luke, i had the same problem recently and asked the very same question. Basically your best bet is to carefully angle grind or hacksaw the bolt of on the indside of the front wing then buy new bumper bolts and mounting brackets. £23 a side on ebay at the momnent i think.

Thanks

Mark

Ah, those bolts are awful, they always do that. Make sure you cover the new ones in plenty of grease before fitting them again.

clicky

I think the above are the longer ones from the sides. The front ones are usually better.

i just grabbed a long screwdriver and wedged it against that rubber circle thingy that it screws into and it fine after that.

It is always worth wire brushing the threads, then covering in Plus Gas / WD40 before trying to get them off. If they are very old, you should be pleased if they break otherwise they can mangle the bumper if they spin. The wedge with a screwdriver is a good approach as it keeps the tension on the bolt "head" to reduce the spinning
