Finaly Got Round To Fitting The Dgav Carb

Recommended Posts

M_R_205

Hi Guys

Finaly got round to fitting the DGAV carb to the XS and it just manages to run on choke and as soon as i quickly blip the throttle it stalls, But if im gentle i can slowly build the revs up,

It seems to me like is running very lean, Do these symptoms sound right? If so il drill the jet tomorrow, What size increase do you think i should go for? 0.1mm?

Cheers

Paul.

Check the operation of the accelerator pump - When you open the throttle you should see a squirt of fuel being pumped into the primary venturi. You need to know the carb is functioning correctly before you go changing jet sizes!

Well it looks like its a combination of the fuel inlet and filter being horribly clogged up by salty sediment, and the pump not working along with EVERYTHING being generally minging!

After a good clean everything is running much better!! but The accelerator pump still wont pump, The diaphragm looks ok an none of the channels are obviously blocked.. I dont suppose anyone knows which tube should squirt the fuel so i can give it a good look and an extra clean

Get a rebuild kit for it - Strip it all down completely, remove all the diaphragms and blow every channel out with an air line and carb cleaner. Wash every part and reassemble with new seals and gaskets. Its the only way to properly make sure that the carb is serviceable!
