Need to change the hubs complete with the shock assembly on my partner does a pair from a 306 work out well?

yup, exactly the same parts, make sure you get the correct size BJ.

It may be wise to swap the springs too, Partner ones tend to be longer.

DW8 is not an XUD, its a DW :)

What I meant was I need new shocks and hub assembly for my 1997 partner with an XUD engine, and at a local scrappy there is a phase 3 306 with a DW8 engine which looks pretty good.

Are these a straight swap ? re the bj's yes had a prob on my partner before I bought it but is the bj diameter the same ? ie if i just change the shock assembly and hubs would they fit ?

there are two sizes, changeover period was roughly 97-98.

the Phase 3 306 will be 18mm BJ, Partner may be 16mm.

Just fit new 18mm BJ's, they are cheap :)

make sure you get the right ones, there is PAS and non PAS balljoints.

or just fit the damper unit on its own and use your hubs?

what exactly is the problem?

no need to fit the dampers then, just get the hubs and new 18MM BJ's from the 306, and use a torque wrench!

Give us a shout if you need any bits. We have a 99 Partner somewhere in the yard and probably loads of bits in the shelf. Postage shouldn't be too much either.
