1.9 8v Runing High And Making Noise

Hi guys when i start my new 1.9 8v from cold it gives a metalic noise for about 1-2 seconds then never makes it again. Any ideas?

 

Also the car runs at 2100rpm and dies to 1200rpm when hot, now iv done a lot of research and with idle swtaying steady but high am i correct in saying the idle control valve could be the one to blame.

Noise difficult to comment on without actually hearing it could be one of many things causing it.

 

As for idle check all hoses and gaskets for splits/cracks causing air leaks also check the SAD is fully closing after 5 mins running.

If all above ok idle can be adjusted on air screw on throttle body but I would advise it done at garage as they can check mixture and timing aswell.

 

No idle valve on a standard 1.9 8 valve.
