406 23mm Master Cylinder

Recommended Posts

Goran

I've been using the search option ...so i'm sorry if i couldn't find it

Could someone tell me from wich exactly 406's the 23mm master cylinder will fit my 205. I made a citroen c2 vtr brake upgrade, and my pedal travel is a bit long. It could be that my original master cylinder isn't in best condition so why not when changing it go to biger one

thanks in advance.

pre 1999, non abs, 1.8 16v Petrol.

That should be a 23.8mm master with either two or 4 ports. if you only need two it should come with blanking plugs for the extras.

i was thinking like i would find it on few local scrapyards, 406 is a rather common car over here in Croatia ... if i was in UK then it would be no problem. but it's silly for me to pay for shipping to croatia for something i can buy over here. That's why i asked from which models of 406 the MC is a perfect match. :(

p.s. i sent a mail to "brakeparts" guys just to see what the shipment would cost

i'd just ask to look at it, the non abs has 4 ports, abs one 2.

even using a 2 port one on a 205 isn't any issue, just use one or two T pieces in the system.

that is how all RHD non abs 306's are piped.

BMC5134; 2/4 PORTS - 10mm CONTAINS 2 BLANKING PLUGS FOR UNUSED PORTS £49.34.

The same m/c is fitted to every 406 model listed in the brakeparts site.

Graham.

When I was buying mine I found there was a choice of 2 non ABS 406 master cylinders, 1 was ally and the other was cast iron.

All 406 have 23.8mm master cylinder so be careful there. You need non- ABS version with 4 holes like here:

THE CYLINDERS ARE VERY SIMILAR BUT DEPENDS ON THE

YEAR OF THE VEHICLE WHAT YEAR IS YOURS

so you told me it should be a pre 1999 as said here ... so i guess it's sorted out now. Thank you very much guys for your help. Goran
