Thinking About Top Mounts

Recommended Posts

rallysteve

Now I have got my long spindle inserts and coil over bodies I can start to think about top mounts for them. Im a bit short on cash so cant spend a fortune (therefore cant afford the BBM ones)

Im not particually fussed about eccentric ones as i dont have 309 arms or anything. The compbrake ones look okay but they see worryingly cheap. AB motorsport have supposed 'Peugeot Sport" ones which have a holder for rose joint welded onto the original top mount caps, £180 seems a lot for these though.

Anyone offer any advice?

Cheers Steve

Nothing wrong with the compbrake ones in my experience. Its just a machined bit of metal and a bearing. Nothing fancy.

Next will be AST top mounts for a bit of bling but I can get a good price <_<

As batfink quite rightly says, the concentric mounts are nothing fancy at all, I could easily make some on my own manual lathe, and fit a cheap bearing.

I've got a set of concentric (the none adjustable ones) mounts for long spindle bilsteins that I've just take off my rally car if you're interested?
