Duff Starter Motor?

Recommended Posts

Jrod

Try to start and it just clicks, well more of a bang to be honest which is the actual pinion popping out within the motor.

The problem is it doesnt spin.

I've done quite a few checks so most things are eliminated and save me struggling to squeeze it out wondered if anyone had an opinion. ;)

I think the picture is clear enough.

Earths are fine.

If I remove the spade at B there is nothing, no click/bang as the pinion stays in. 12V directly to B and it just clicks.

If i feed 12v to C the motor spins, I stuck a multimeter on this pin and it has .5v, if I remove the little wire and tab to the motor body it has 12v.

Does this sound like an actual fault within the motor as I'm not sure where the fault is likely to be if not.

No sorry, maybe not as clear as it should be! no wire of that except the 1 to the body of the starter, just points to writing. ;)
