Bulk Head Strengthening

Hi,

 

I going to strengthen my bulk head where the brake pedal box is, do I weld the plate on the outside or the inside. Guessing it the outside but i want to double check.

Out of interest, would it matter if you welded it on the inside? Say if you had a gti6 engine fitted and space is a premium?

If you have a strut brace you can also devise something that connects to this too - it completely stopped the master cylinder movement when you pressed the brake.

TBh I doubt inside or outside will make any difference apart from ease of fitting it.

 

Unless you have the dash etc fully removed then inside isn't an option imo.

Why not? I don't see why the dash couldn't be re-fitted, unless you mean just to aid fitting the brace itself G?

Baz, I just mean for fitting it, with the dash removed inside is a doddle but if the dash is still in place then access wouldn't happen.

 

Once its in there than the dash can be refitted as normasl.

I fitted mine to the inside for the reasons of Mi fitment. there are pics in the 'members works' area. Search under my username and 'road rally' in the title
