Finally Got That Part!

Sad I know, but have been looking for one of these for ages and have posted on here as a wanted thread before now, but I have finally got that elusive Phase 1 glovebox!

 

Before anyone asks, yes it's the ebay one and had been on there since the 11/02 and it was £60. I'm glad it was still there - I'm normally very quick to get the parts that I want, usually within an hour or so of being advertised but due to moving recently, have had no internet.

 

Now wouldn't be a good time for anyone to reply saying they have one for sale for less!

 

I never pay a great deal for parts but I think the price was ok due to the 13months I have been waiting for this part and for once the much over-used, but dare-I-say-it tag 'rare' for all things 205 seems to apply in this case!

Luckily, its the whole assembly - phwew you had me worried then! The surround section on mine (like many) had cracked in several places.

Now why doesn't anyone reply when you post these things on a wanted thread?

 

So, the way to find the parts you want in the future are as follows:

 

1.) Post a topic to say that you've finally found a part you have searched high and low for.

 

2.) Say that you have paid £££'s for it.

 

3.) Wait for everyone to reply that they have said part/s kicking around.

 

4.) Reply saying that you lied and will take said part/s for a song

instead of looking for a replacement for Sarty's I got the fibreglass out, as any replacement would have been similarly fragile I thought I may as well make it stronger with lots of resin and glass fibre

 

it was all built up on the rear so none was visible

Great idea! That's the kind of thing I had in mind for this currently 'intact' one, my other one was past saving tbh.

seemed to yeah, I dint ant to "test" it for fear of smashing it to bits but it did survive a few weeks of B roads before it was sold on.

Congrats on the part, i was a bit like that when i sourced the phase 1 gear surround. (the plastic bit that often has the clips missing).
