Air Filter/box/tubing

Recommended Posts

Hello,

My car already had an after market air filter on it when I purchased it, but this sets at the rear of the engine above the exhaust manifold, which is not ideal.

So I am looking to return it to standard,

Can anyone tell me if the standard 1.6 and 1.9 systems are the same?

Thank you

I'm 99% sure they're the same bar the AFM.

As above - exactly the same other than the AFM itself.

With a proper K&N adapter, you can relocate the air filter to behind the passenger headlight where it won't be sucking in hot air off the exhaust manifold - another option for you if you can't source a complete standard air intake setup, or would rather keep the engine bay less cluttered.

Ok, thank you.

That would be ok, I could just use my AFM.

There is a 1.6 setup I am looking, but mine is a 1.9

Thank you

I did look at putting it behind the headlight,

but mine has PAS and this seams to be in the way for doing this.

Thanks

There's a relocation bracket for cars with PAS that moves the fluid reservoir next to the battery

Not the best picture in the world and doesn't show the bracket itself, but you can see where the PAS reservoir goes.

Hello,

That would be ideal,

Is the bracket from a shop or did you make it your self?

Thank you

It came with the K&N kits for PAS equiped 205's, but it would be very easy to make something up yourself that would do the job - it just goes between one of the mounting holes on the PAS reservoir to one of the holes on the battery tray, and a thin strip of steel or alloy bent to shape with a hole at either end would be fine.
