Mi16 Conversion Costs

Hi, i am just about to start a major overhaul of a 1.9Gti and i was wondering what the approximate overall cost of a MI16 conversion is?

 

I had an engine a couple of years ago and had to sell it for various reasons.

 

If you could give me some idea of costs for items such as inlet manifold, dizzy adaptor, exhaust manifold, engine mounts etc I would be grateful.

£1500+ if you do it properly.

Buy an engine with the inlet - strip and rebuild the engine.

4-2-1 Manifold

Mi16 gearbox

Loom

AFM

Time.

 

 

 

Use the Mi16 loom and ECU - don't bother with the 8v ignition set up ie. dizzy adaptor.

 

Have a look around the forum - this topic comes up a lot.

Yep i'd agree with that, £1500-2k if you're doing it properly anyway!

 

Unless you're lucky and can find an already rebuilt & proven engine/converted loom & ecu etc etc. (Which i have for sale as it happens!)

+ worth remembering that 99% of engine with the electronics will be worn out so factor in new parts here or aftermarket stuff, It's a good 20 years old now.
