Vehicle Dolly

Hi, i'm about to start overhauling my 1.9 Gti and wanted to mount the car on a moveable dolly frame on large wheels so i can strip all the suspension bits off. Has anyone made such a thing?

Where is the best place to put cross beams under the shell which wont obstruct access to suspension components etc without damaging brake lines?

Thanks

Mark

I have a cross beam with wheels I made to move shells about, I made it with two sections of angle iron mounted in "V" shape that the sill seams sit into. With this at the back of the car the front is light enough to pick up by the front cross member and then drag it about the place.

I was going to use some uni strut from work which is 41mm x 41mm box section which i can then bolt some heavy duty castors too, i want to raise the car off the ground enough so i can lie under it without having to jack it up all the time too!
