2052006 10 Posted February 13, 2011 Today I removed the n/s rear seat belt due to a nasty squeak it's been making for ages. Whilst trying to "fix" it, I broke it Anyway, it's got rid of the annoying sqeaking it was making, but what happens at MOT time? Will I have to fit another? I've still got rear seats and the o/s rear belt is still fitted.
allye 530 3 Cars Posted February 13, 2011 Scrap yard, any 205 or 106 will fit! Make sure you get the correct side though.
SurGie 54 Posted February 13, 2011 If a car was made with seat belts its is law to have them, unless you take the seats out then seat belts are not needed by law.
2052006 10 Posted February 13, 2011 Sounds like I have to fit one then? Are 106 ones exactly the same?
Baz 421 Posted February 13, 2011 If you have seats you have to have belts. (well, in any car since about 1976 or something anyway)

hcmini1989 16 Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) If you have seats you have to have belts. (well, in any car since about 1976 or something anyway) I think the rear belts are 1986 ish but the fronts are needed alot earlier. It depends if you pull the rear seat out come mot time then they wont test them and youll be ok. Baz 421 Posted February 13, 2011 Yeah something like that, in the case of the rears, if the seats are there you have to have belts. So if you don't have the belts, whip the seats out and you'll be fine, perhaps with an advisory stating the seats are missing/weren't tested.
