Alternator Differnces?

Just a quick one to see if there's a difference between the alternators on the 1.6 & 1.9 8v engines? The one on my 1.9 8v is knackered (only putting out 11.3v) and the missus, being the whirlwind she is, has just bought me one off ebay without calling first.....but it's for a 1.6.

A 1.6 alternator will fit fine.

 

There's a slight difference in the amp ratings (50 vs 70 amps), but it makes no difference worth worrying about.

As above, and certainly in my experience a 1.6 GTi alternator is perfectly sufficient on a 1.9 GTi

Might be worth checking/cleaning up the connections whilst changing the alternator.
