Non 205 Fuel Level Sender

My mate needs to fit a fuel sender in a fuel tank, but there isn't a lot of room:

 

 

The tank is a wedge shape culminating in a 60mm wide top section that won’t accommodate the flanges of the only sender unit I can fit in which is made by a company called VDO. The tube diameter is 54 mm which will fit but the flange that would screw into the tank is 70mm.

 

Anyone know of a smaller one?
