Xsara Vts Sensors

Recommended Posts

Para

Hi there,

As I read somewhere here on the forum ,when I'm using Phase II engine from Xsara VTS 2003 , I need to replace couple of sensors in order to make it work. As far as I know I need to replace

- knock sensor

- map sensor

and thermostat housing temp sensor for GTI6 one or xsara phase I one , .... am I right ?

One problem I have is identification and placement of those sensors, I found the topic here but even with this I can't find those sensors in servicebox. Does anyone can help and provide part numbers for them so I could order them from Peugeot.

Cheers,

Mike

You need to check which loom you are using, there were two types of MAP sensor used by the non-multiplex vehicles, the plug is different on them - one is normal JPT type and the later is a similar plug to the ICV, a superseal type.

you'll find most of the engine sensors that the ECU uses, in the ECU listings.

No need to change the water ones, Just use the std 205 ones in there

Not seen a late one but I bet they have 2 Lambda's as most do, Knock sensor I know on the 406 is the same, Just 2 of them. As WP has said the main thing are the plugs on the Map and Oil pressure sender's

So where does the MAP sensor located ?

Would i need to change my MAP sensor from my 1999 VTS loom and engine, i dont have a 205 one if thats what is needed ?

Here you go Mike VV

Iv used Miles sensor adaptor with the 205 1.9 pressure sensor @ the side, with the VTS oil red light sensor in this picture, AFAIK the VTS oil red light sensor is the right one to use for the 205 conversion.

THIS is where i got my oil filter thread from so i can fit the oil filter. You would need to change this if you want an oil cooler like using the 205 one. Of you could use the VTS oil heater attachment instead without connecting the water pipes.

(please note this oil filter is a cheap nasty one to use when i did compression test and spin the engine round when in storage)

nowt wrong with a Coopers filter, same factory as FRAM  used lots of them without any issues.

MAP is bolted on the top of the manifold, just downstream of the throttle body, use whichever type that fits your engine loom.
