Looking For New Cars

Recommended Posts

dcc

So, been shopping about on the web and had my heart set on a 1.3 cdti corsa,Just interested in seeing what people would recommend as a commuting car, 40 miles of mostly motorway driving.

Was thinking maybe a small engined 106/saxo petrol, or a 306 hdi/td or even a xsara... but then I saw a 205gti today in Barry and really wanted another!

any help on car suggestions would be muchos appreciatos!

(a mint/tidy 205 gti isnt off the cards either!)

Get a lupo 1.4 TDI, tax is £30/ year. Get a remap done on it (£119) and you will get better mpg aswell as more power! And they look cool :(

Great idea but Dan would still only see 20mpg from it :(

My mum had a courtesy 1.4 Corsa after her car was written off by a drunk driver and my brother has just bought a new 107 to commute 80 miles everyday. My mum hated the Corsa she said it drank petrol and didnt like anything about it. My brother loves his little 107 and says its really economical the only trouble is he bought it in bright gay yellow as he said it looked sporty! :(

bit the bullet, and went for a 2nd hand 1.2 sxi corsa!

less than half the insurance cost of the civic, twice the mpg, 1/10th the fun

Beg to differ, I had a right laugh in mine with Anthony chasing in his Mi16 (Dino tried in his but couldn't keep up :) )

If I needed to get good fuel economy, I'd need a car that couldn't physically be driven hard - I evem manage to rape the fuel of my STDT on a long run!

I do a similar commute, my 1.4 205 has always had fairly good smiles per gallon, I bought it with 35k on the clock last December for £600. It is perfectly happy on the motorway but always makes my day doing the last bit on country roads.

Good luck with your new purchase mate
