Mi16 Jenveys, Long Or Short Trumpets?

Recommended Posts

streetsleeper

I just got my pug back from pug1off and it came off the rollors with 228bhp(@7,850rpm) and 170lb-ft trq(@6425rpm) :)

Its a 1.9 mi16 with forged rods and pistons, jenvey tb's, 551 catcams with solid lifters, double valve springs etc, gti-6 oil pump.

I just need to get a filter on my jenveys now tho and with the long trumpets on them there is no room for one. Ive got some shorter trumpets off my carbs but ive been told that I would loose torque by fitting these?

What do ya reckon then, short trumpets and a nice big filter OR keep the long trumpets and cut a section out of the slam pannel to make room for a filter?

Different length Trumpets need re-mapping, So it should have never of been mapped if you where going to change them it makes a huge differance in power and torque,
