Pattern Part Oil Pressure Sensor

I just bought a brand new pattern part oil pressure sensor off eBay for £14 (item number 290519969267). I bought it completely on a whim, because I need a new one for the Mi16, and I know that Pug charge something silly like £80 (IIRC). So I pretty much just bought it the moment I saw it, and didn't even check Servicebox to cross ref the part number, so I bloody hope it'll fit

 

Anyway, now I'm wondering if it's going to provide a reading that is equivilant to the OE sensor or not. I'm not talking accurate here, we all know they are a guessometer, I just mean providing the roughly the same reading as per the OE. The reason I wondered this is that when I connected my aftermarket sensor (came with my TIM oil pressure gauge) it gave a higher reading, and with the engine off the needle actually sat about 1/4 of the way up the dial (EDIT: must clarify, this was the TIM sensor connected to the original dial in the dash, not the TIM dial, which I've never got around to fitting)

 

If this new sensor is going to do similar weird stuff I won't bother fitting it, and I'll probably just try to repair the OE one again (tab has broken off).

 

Any ideas?

Dunno, but I bought one too!

 

Pattern parts are always a gamble, cheap enough to take a chance though. I will fit the old one if it starts behaving strangely.
