hey all, hoping to pick your brains on this one

i recently bought a gti-6 of a freind, new it was a good one blah blah

its got avo adjustable all round, which are less than 6 months old

today i discovered that both the fronts are weeping oil and the top of the lower shock section is damp

what should i do,he got them through ecosse,so should i turn to them,or try get in touch with avo myself

im just hoping he has the recipts for them still as he didnt give me it with the rest of it

surely they will want the knackered units before sending new ones, and neither of us have the old standard shocks,as they were knackered

any help would be great with this one

thanks

ben

Well the first thing I'd do is ask a mod to move this in to Brakes, Suspension and Steering. And I'd ask them to change the topic title to something relevant.

Does that help? B)

i think you will be struggling here as you did not buy the shocks unless your mate can find the bill and claim for you.

if they do accept your claim they are still going to want the old units so they can check them out.

you could always try the factorey which is in northampton if you get down that way

yes but i thought it should go in here with it not actually been a problem with the car as such, more a enquiry about a company and it isnt on a 205

They will more than likely rebuild them, if they aren't old and haven't been set too low its possible they'll only need seals.

Just get them off and have your mate send them away, AVO are good at turning around stuff like this, shame they have to do it so often though :)

As said I'd give Avo a call, they do have very good service on this front as WP has said it's quite a common thing with them not just on Pug's either, Last set I sent off where back within a week
