Insurance What Are Other People Paying?

Recommended Posts

davey205

Any recommendations? I want fully comp obviously, so far best price admiral £697.

23 yr old male

2 yr NCB ( was on parents insurance prior to this, no claims )

License held for 5 years

Limited mileage - up to 4000

Parked on driveway.

Voluntary excess £350

Standard 1.6

Bit of a shocker gone up from last year (£655) , what are other people paying ?

EDIT> What Thatcam category (if any) is a Clifford Eagle alarm / immobilizer.

It's a completely redundant question if you don't have an installation certificate, which I assume you don't, becuase it would tell you if it was Thatham approved if you did have it. Insurers won't accept a Thatham approved alarm/immob without a valid installation certificate.

Some insurance companies let you carry it over from your moped insurance I think

Re installation certificate - find a decent alarm fitter and pay them to check over your alarm and install and you can get a certificate.

£190 TPFT, 34yo, classic policy, 205 Mi16 with all mods declared including cage, limited mileage 5k, euro breakdown cover etc etc. As its a classic policy, there are 0 NCB.

I just cannot shake my attraction to E30s, yet I find it tough to leave the 205. Can I ask, how do they compare? Only driven standard E30s, but lucky enough to have a Nordschleife lap in a 335 and that was supremely quick (looked a f***ing handful though!).

Just out of intrest who are you considering to go with for insurance for the xs conversion as I'm sure co-op don't cover engine conversions?

Any other tu coversion peeps speak up as i'd love to convert my own 1.1 to something bigger but insurance is a worry!

The nice gentlemen on the phone was okay with it when I rang to discuss it with them. He just said I simply have to ring up and ask for him when I want to declare it when it's finished and he'll swap the insurance over
