Mi16 Conversion Parts

Recommended Posts

I'm taking on an MI16 conversion, i've been searching for converted looms and exhaust manifolds and came across this company. Has anybody dealt with these before? are they any good?

Any advice appreciated, thanks.

Miles

They have been around a while, I;ve never been a fan of modded manifolds as with Age I see allot that have cracked or blowing back where all 8 pipes join into 1 and removing them is a nightmare even with the engine out.

Loom wise, Always hard to tell but I;ve never seen a good one from anyone or any company yet

Loom wise, Always hard to tell but I;ve never seen a good one from anyone or any company yet - except the home made one that GLPoomobile made for his MI16. That was a work of art and I couldn't fault it in the slightest

Edited for (tongue in cheek) accuracy

45 quid is cheap for the exhaust solution though, provided it doesn't crack around the welds. You'd have to ask them if they used stainless wire/rods and what grade. I guess the "silly shaped washers" are the ones I make! I just sold a converted Motronic loom (added knock sensor & idle motor) for AUS$90. Obviously way too cheap. Then again, more or more are going to aftermarket ECU's as AFM's die.

I'm more than happy with Peter's exhaust wedge, studs and washers.

It has been in for a few years and 30-40000kms and is going fine. Can't complain with the cost as it is very reasonable, and i like to support people who contribute openly to the development of these cars/engines.

Hi, Its Matt, i run Retro, any questions fire away guys!

Jord, just to ask, what do you mean by that comment? We've been building beams for over 5 years now, and only ever had one returned to us (it had covered 85k miles and needed re doing again - i admit id have liked it to last longer but these things do happen).

Our machine shop is also used by Research Peugeot main dealers in Nuneaton Warwickshire (honestly, im not fibbing) so if theres an issue with the way things are being done ill jump straight on it??

Other than that, i can only fix problems im aware of, and im certainly not aware of any one elses problems.

If you have a bad experience, pm me and ill sort it out.

Cheers

Matt

Haha Really, was it that long ago!! Do you still have it? When i picked that car up it was running on Dunlop semi slicks. It was an interesting 100 mile drive home - in the pouring rain!

Never been so scared in a 205 before!
