Is The Ciggy Lighter Surround Illuminated?

As title, is the surround to the cigarette lighter supposed to be illuminated?

 

Mine is just a dark hole at night and my passenger seriously objected to where I was trying to plug my sat nav supply into.

 

No idea why she minded though, the charger slipped right in easily enough.

The one fitted to my p1.5 is illuminated.

haha, naa mine has some orange plastic around it but has never been illuminated. Mine doesn't have a light in the glove box either, think it was just a cheap one.
