Failed on sidelights not working?!? I checked all the lights before i took it in and they were fine, I also work nights so always see if the sidelights are working or not anyway and Cv boot gaiter - this i had replaced back in August - I expect what the tester has seen is the oil and crap everywhere from when It split and just failed it not bothering to check if it was actually broken! Argh, sorry just felt the need to vent.

Sounds OK to me, an hour or so work to do and then it will pass.

As for the CV boot, if the tester has failed it, it must be either insecure or split.

I will guess that the poxy cable ties supplied with the boot have let it come off the CV joint.

Often testers just spot a bit of cv grease and fail it without checking, so clean it up and check yourself. Conversely, if you know you have a CV boot split, you can wipe off the grease and clean it up and they wont spot the split and fail you; Works both ways that one. Still, as Tom says, sounds like a pretty easy list to sort for a 205, a lot of members would kill for a list that short at the dreaded MOT time!

It was the opposite cv that was in need of attention, don't know how I could have missed the sidelights not working.

Anyway thats her passed for another year, with 2 advisories -

WINDSCREEN HAS DAMAGE TO AN AREA LESS THAN A 10MM CIRCLE WITHIN ZONE A - This has supposedly been repaired by autoglass with their poly resin injection method - oh well just an advisory.

and

CENTRE EXHAUST HAS A MINOR LEAK OF EXHAUST GASSES, - not surprised really surprised it isn't leaking from the manifold like my last one did.

The emissions were a little on the high side apparently - just looking damn he has not given me the emissions sheet, but this is to be expected as I only really putter around town and short journeys to work etc, and It hasn't had a major service for a while.
