10 and a big one.

If you fit the head without the 2 spacers on the back left bolt it will;

1: punch a hole into the water way for the water pump,

2: crack the engine block

If you are getting water into the cylinder (number 4 is on the left of the engine) after a head gasket change I would suggest using a different engineer.

No, that's not right. There are ten spacers, all the same size, in a 1.9L Mi16 head. The bolt hole over the water pump is counterbored less, so the head of the bolt sits up a lot higher.

You're thinking of an 8v large.

1.9 Mi16 just has 10 "cotton reel" looking spacers, one per headbolt. The extra "spacer" is cast into the head.

The extra "spacer" is cast into the head.

But not in a 2L Mi16, where all the counterbores are the same depth, as the bolts are shorter.

*phew*..thanks for your response..at least he used 10 spacers..but then what can happen wrong? is it too easy to destroy new gasket cuz of few hot moments? (i had problem with radiator for a while) i just try to avoid remove the head again..!

it is possible to put the gasket on wrong which could cause this, also if its a 1.9 alloy block it could be a damaged liner seal.

but if it was wrong then i would have the problem right away and nothing would fix after the second tighten of the bolts..as for the liner seal before the change of the gasket i hadnt any problems..i changed it just by precaution as i put the engine in another 205..i dont know what to think..the left far bolt was the only one who took about 1kg tightening..and this is the cylinder who has the problem..(in greece the left one we call number one by the order they fire)

the change of the gasket could have damaged the liner seal if the bottom end moved at all with th head off.

i am afraid this happened for 1-2 meters and also with a gear in the gearbox:( it didn't seem to be moved a liner that moment although i guess it hasnt to be visible that easily in order to have a liner seal damaged..i want to be a bit more optimist as it worked well for about a week..when i take the head off(as i dont think i cant do otherwise),i ll check it if the gasket is ok..
