Single Axle Trailer

Recommended Posts

Now that I have the 205 up where I need it I don't really have the space or need for the trailer I have and was thinking about selling it.

Its pretty basic, single axle with brakes and lights and 2 spare wheels with good tyres. Even has a 12v electric winch that easily pulled the 205 on. Also has ramps to aid loading.

I wouldn't say it would take anything much bigger than a 205 though.

Any ideas what its worth? :)

I'm assuming it is a homebrew, these are very hard to value due to the massive differences in standard of work.

However given that anything presentable of proprietary manufacture is around £750 upwards, with anything Brian James generally £1000 up, and yours sounds like a decent useable thing complete with winch and ramps, I'd say try for £450+ and see how you get on.

Yep def home brewed. Did the job ok but I found the tail was very close to the ground when hooked up to our golf. Suppose that's easily adjusted though.

Looks alright that. To give you an idea, I paid £100 for a 3-bike trailer not all that long ago. Obviously a touch smaller than that and no brakes, but it gives you a rough idea.

I'm by no means an expert but it felt fine. I was taking it easy when it was loaded but unloaded you barely notice its there!!!

I see Pistonheads has a trailer section so will try popping it on there. If I get a decent offer then I'll let it go. If its only worth £100-150 then its probably worth just hanging onto for now.

I reckon you'd be looking more around the £200-250 mark. I'd happily pay that if I was in need of a trailer but didn't want a twin axled behemoth...

Having seen the pics I'd be inclined to agree.

I would stick it on eBay, I was watching trailers on there a while back and they were getting really good money for them.

I sold a very similar spec thing yonks ago, not as clean and tidy as yours but it still made just the good side of £200 on ebay, so I'd say the estimate of £200-250 is on the money too.

Looks like I have a buyer and sounds like I got a fair price judging by the discussion we've been having, cheers guys :)
