Recommended Posts

I've just remembered i've got some xmas money left over i've not paid in to the bank so rather than just let it be absorbed by normal day to day s*it i thought i'd treat myself to something :D

I've been looking at one of these Power Probe 3's. I vagualy remember someone mentioning them previously and after a bit of googling they certainly look really useful!!

Anyone have one/use one?

Yup, have a bog standard power probe and have used a mates PP3, really useful tools for fault finding.

Not much more to add really than what was shown in the video.

I have used one to see if the crank sensor is working, as well as spark signal etc.

I've used a mates quite a bit, good piece of kit, but I can't really justify the cost as I can do all I need to do with my Fluke meter.

I have used a PP3 and they are very good, but dont think i could justify the cost. I have one of the more simple Sealey ones that connects to the battery had a dual colour LED to indicate whether the probe is earthed or connected to voltage and a switch to apply +ve or gnd to the probe, has a self resetting fuse too. Was only about £20 off the internet and does everything I could need it for. One thing is that the lead isnt quite long enough to reach the boot from the battery on my Volvo 850 though B)
