Ph3 306 Gti6 Clock/temp Guage Prob

Hi all, I know its not a 205 but I also know that many of you have 306's, I have a fault with mine cant get the figures to illuminate, at the multiway connector at the rear I have a perm live, a switched live from lights, a perm earth but no switched ign live which I believe is the cause of the problem.

Ive tried looking in the haynes book of lies but the wiring diags are crap and only show the clock for the peasant spec ones with the clock in the dash and not the nice digtal one under the heater controls, I just need to know which wire is supposed to be switched live and where it gets its feed from

Cheers

anything else not working?

feed comes from Fuse 19, wire V191 (green) but changes colour+number near most components, code still starts with a V (typically V19**, and orange)

doh, that's the lighting feed, will see what I can find, from memory there's only one plug on the clock unit so it'll be one of those wires!

No everything except rear wiper is working, which is of course a completely different fault lol, all the other illuminations work, I have illum feed to it just no swt ign+

Lateral thinking, high spec 405's have a similar unit.

6 wires,

perm+ Pin 1, B253

Earth Pin 2, M72A

Ignition Switched pin 3, A285

Lighting Feed Pin 4, V196

Temperature sensor pin 5+6, wires 721 and 722.

Wire numbers may not be the exactly same, but prefix code in letters should be.

Thank you Welshpug, can you tell me where that Pin 3 A285 comes from / terminates, is it spliced in the loom somewhere or does it come direct from the fuse board or another conrol unit, the Haynes book of lies is worse than useless, even better are you able to mail me the schematic so that I have something to work with, I also have a dead short on the lowest most right fuse in the fuse box has a thick blue wire coming out the rear of it and is supplied by a common feed from what I can see

Cheers
