a sad day in the life of my 205 today, as she sits out on the road side just outside my house with that pretty little road rainbow running out and down to the closest storm grate B)

after a few weeks of nothink but trouble i was reali proud of my little xs as apart from needing a new dizzy cap she never let me down in all this bad weather

and things reali were looking good . So as we quite often do me and the better half of me often go out for longdrives as we both live with our parents and we dnt reali get to see much of each other , after perhaps two hours of driving we pulled over at one of our regular stops which over looks a pond and has an over view of the m20 (romantic i know but we play this little game where she tries to guess the cars by the headlights and she always looses lol ) next thing i know its half 2 in the morning and we had dozed off so i tried to drive away with out waking her up . This is about the time when i wished i was still asleep because about 5 minutes down this single track lane and the big red "STOP" light that we are all so familler with gave me a little wink and gone as soon as that, now i knew there was a petrol station between where i was and where the girlfriend lives so 2nd gear and about 15 mph to the garage was the the plan but as always plans never happen .... do they LOL All of a sudden said "stop" light is glaring me in the face and waving at me with his two partners in the temp and oil pressure clusters and what i thought to be the clutch starting to slip ( this turned out to be the gear box full of oil ) so i changed into 3rd and the car cut out (im still rolling along at this point ) so back into 2nd and it was iff i had bumpstarted the car back into life after the longest 3 4 seconds of my life there was a very worring very lound bang followed by the loudest scream from the passenger seat i have ever heard and the hole car cam to a wheel locked skid ... on the phone to the rac and they tell me the closest engineer is in margate ... and im in maidstone lol so manged to the sound of pound notes convince the engineer to drop my girlfriend home and then drop me and the xs back home in gravesend . but as luck would have it i had just brought a parts car and due to pick it up saturday its the only other 205 i know of with the xy engine in it pretty lucky ahy lol any way im off to go start removing the boat anchor that now sits between my front inner wings lol all the best guys and a happy new year to you all x

Had a similar experience a few years back now...

"Ooh whys the oil light on ?"

Large bang as one big end bearing lets go of the crank and the rod makes its escape through the side of the block (taking the starter with it)

A brown trouser moment as the rear wheels (series landrover) lock solid at 50mph whilst towing a caravan.

Even my dog looked confused B)

Ah mate, so sorry to read about the vandals!!! Good luck with the project, looking to make any improvements whilst you're fixing it up?

I'm not even sure I can be bothered to read the opening post, as at first glance it just looks like a f***in' ton of words spat on to the page

I'll give it a try though. Here goes....

I'm back, and I made it!

Sorry to hear about the break in. Little bastards. I've always been tempted to glue razor blades inside the top of the door frame for such occasions, but it would only end in up worse for me or the car if any little chav did actually cut themselves
