We seem to be talking motorsport here whereas you asked for a trackday helmet, afaik for a trackday the helmet doesn't have to conform to the blue book / be fireproof, but since you can buy fireproof one's for decent money you may as well do

 

Sorry I'll try to be clear:

 

I want a helmet for trackdays, however I was consdering doing a couple of sprints this year as well.

 

For trackdays, my dad has offered his motorbike helmet which, as I understand, should be fine.

 

What I am unclear of is whether this helmet will be acceptable for the sprint events I am looking at (probably Abingdon) ?

IF you're doing sprints then it'll have to conform as has been said, so maybe Demon Tweeks is a good bet to try them on?

 

If it's just for trackdays, instead of borrowing one, I'd just buy a new one. Mine was £95, a BS Type A / ACU Gold.
