Pull Up Reverse

Hi,

 

I'm currently running a 205 turbo with a gti6 gearbox... looks like its been bodged up so that I dont have to use a pull up reverse.. this is causing me problems when going for 6th, a bit too much to the left I hit 4th n a bit too much to the right I grind reverse... same as going for 5th, I either hit 3rd or some strange no mans land..

 

From what Ive read I need to fit a pull up reverse gear stick with cable.. Have managed to sort 1 (should b here this week) but I'm A bit worried about how hard it is to run the cable through as the car originally didnt have a pull up reverse...

 

Figured many of us have had the same issue so could someone settle my worries or just point me to the right forum

There's already a hole in the bulkhead that's covered with a rubber grommit, so it's straight forward enough to do, just need to remove the lower canter console and partly lift up the carpet from memory.

As said all the fittings are there, just need to change the Gearstick really and away you go

Thanks guys fitted it today... you were both spot on and everything went pretty well. Only problem I had was needing to remove 1 of my seats as they r fixed buckets and didn't give me enough room to slide the console out!!

 

No more over revin for me now

 

Anyone make a 205 style 6 speed gear knob??
