120bhp, wow must be a good 1.6. :D

Most likely the ignition amp or coil breaking down once the under bonnet temp has risen. Mine was sometimes a pig to start in the summer after it had been run previously. Swapped the ignition amp, remembering to use conductive paste, and the problem was gone.

if it's turning over when you turn the key, as above, but i also had this problem and it turned out to be the fuel pump not holding pressure in the rail when hot, and having trouble getting going again when hot.

if you have a friend with a pressure gauge, pop it in line (either at the tank outlet) or before the rail (opposite end from the fuel pressure regulator) and see what's what.

chasing these kinds of problems needs a methodical approach, otherwise you will spunk lots of money and never really know what's cured it.

large

It is normally on the inner wing by the battery. Its the small black and blue or just black block bolted to the heat sink. with a 7 pin plug going to it.

So your running 1.9 injectors with a 1.6 afm?? if im not mistaken thats bad news as it'll be running rich i think and I am supprised it feels faster.

I'm just about to swap my injectors on my 1.6 back to the 1.6 injectors as someone put 1.9 items in. It makes it run very rich, hence why I'm swapping back.

Yeh its got a chipped ecu tho and it suprisingly runs 100x better then when i first got it. so its dumping more fuel in. i wasnt aware that the afm from a 1.6 is different to the 1.9 i thought it was all done by the ecu?

Do some searching on here mate you will find the 1.6 and 1.9 afm are very slightly different.

You'll find it will run a lot better if you ditch the wanky chipped ecu, put 1.6 injectors back in, make sure you have a 1.6 afm and dizzy.

It should run just fine with a 1.9 cam, it just makes them seem very flat power wise in my experience.

I found it to run like dog poo with the 1.9 cam also the ecu and injectors seem to work together very well. as i tried it with a set of 1.6 injectors and the original ecu but all its flat spots come back and it just become sluggish! i suppose with these cars its hit or miss as with my friends 205 it ran crap with the ecu. i suppose its whatever your car likes lol
