New Big End And Main Bearings

Hi people,

 

Im after some main and big end bearings (also piston rings) fora 1.9 gti.

 

I dont want bad quality, but similarly dont want to pay peugeots £140 for just the bearings.

 

Does anybody know where i can get decent quality ones for not a bad price from?

What type and what size of bearings, As you can have std or Lead/Copper big ends.

I paid £35-40 for a set about 3 years ago from a local machinist shop, they were very helpful in checking the wear on the crank and cleaning/polishing it too.

I paid £25 for a set of peugeot o.e big ends recently, from the J4R engine, they'll fit the 1.9.
