mmt 15 Posted January 7, 2011 (edited) Hi Guys, My 205 needs to lose some weight. I race the car in a weight/power ratio class. The car is about 40 kg. too heavy. Where can I lose weight? The car is already stripped ! Creativity is welcome! A smaller tank can save weight and also allow repositioning to balance the car more. race spec battery is a light thing - mount it in the boot too. Perspex windows carbon wings, bonnet, door skin, hatch race starter motors are lighter (an XU 10 one is lighter than an XU9) lighter alternators remove unnecessary wiring interior heater motor dashboard plastics hollow 306 hubs (but will impact your front camber) Alloy brake calipers Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Vili 18 Posted January 8, 2011 Are you aloud to use fiber body panels? Proper carbon or fiberglass bonnet will save you 5-6 kilos. Race battery another 5 kilos. Henry Yorke 269 3 Cars Posted January 8, 2011 Cheaper pattern bumpers are a good one too as some of the ones I have seen are so flimsy compared to the heavy genuine Peugeot ones. mmt 15 Posted January 8, 2011 Thanks guys. I carry as little fuel as possible. Already have a race batterÿ. Saved me 10 kg. It´s now where the backseat used to be. Already have plastic windows(at least the 4 side sindows) Alloy calipers is in place(in the front, std in the back.)
