Yeah shame I can't have just them front & rear really, they look awesome! :D

Not weighed them yet, they're too heavy for my 5kg max sissy scales so I'll have to get some that go higher. I reckon the fronts will come in at 5.7kg and the rears at 6.5kg, or something like that.

Do you have a huge credit card limit, earn loads or have millionaire parents?

Just asking. :D

No credit cards, no debts, no rich parents, no Euro Millions wins.. I just have a reasonable job and minimal outgoings.

Also, I sold a lot of things recently to afford this. :P

Body / dignity / drugs to children.. you name it.

Bank of Jealousy it sounds.. :P My dad retired 5 years ago and my mum is a teacher, you can rest assured I don't get a penny from them. Also, I'm 27. If you want to have expensive hobbies you need to make some sacrifices, and that I do.

Sod sacrifices! Life's too short to pass up on anything worthwhile!

Looking forward to when the fabrication starts on this.

Just for Rallyeash's benefit, and as mentioned previously, don't get your hopes up about the XU AT drysump. The price they gave me for the pan was stupid! There isn't enough demand for XU drysumps i'm afraid. You'll have to bend over a barrel and call Pace.

Exactly why I'm building this car! May as well while I'm young. :D

It's simple mechanics Ed, so I'd love to know why!

Yep, it's very simple, if it's a coilover then the spring is a squared function, so it's more than 3x as hard :D

And even if not, it changes where the dampers react and cavitate, even if you change the internals to help you'd still end up running less bleed and more internal working pressure, so a bit of extra force and friction there too.

Although, pretty irrelevant anything this side of a single seater.

Pretty irrelevant that you'd gain about 1%, maybe 2% extra force/friction for something such as this?

Otherwise as stated by Phil himself, not working the damper particularly harder for the same wheel rate. I'd think its a given the internal shimming would change between these sorts of different bell crank ratios anyway.

Got an offset and centre bore size on those Caterham rims, look tasty! Look good on a 205 too, theres one a while back wearing some.
