The exhaust is of no use to me though, and I kinda want to build the thing myself anyway. :D

I know what you mean. Getting your hands dirty is where the fun is!

I'm sure they'd make a manifold that would fit though!

Making the exhaust manifold & system is one of the jobs I'm looking forward to the most though!

It's a good find, and probably a great engine, but £9k in one go is a fair old whack! Part of the beauty of building the engine myself is that I can let parts trickle in instead of having to save up (and be tempted to fritter that on other bits & bobs), plus I should hopefully have a source of top notch parts for a good price.

Yeah I think I'll bring my vapour mask down there tonight!

Are you planning on pickin up the mini tonight then? Gonna look pretty good in there soon! :D

Haha we could set one up for misc projects / setting up the workshop, either that or you'll need to pull your finger out and do some work. ;)

Lol, i vote just put everything into a 'stagland' thread. but yer, until I buy the evo my side of things will be pretty dull maybe. I didn't mean one for 'how to build a garage'. Just a thread that incorporates everything that happens in the unit, makes for a more interesting read. I did a garage thread on 16v inc all the hybrid charging malarkey I did, and the v6 twin turbo, variety = buff. buriety.

Yer minis def going there tonight now.

Ok, and should we change our names to Lee and Brian while we're at it? :P

I quite like this thread though, and over 40k views now! :D You could add your Mini to this, but it would basically mean it stays the same as it is now. OH NO HE DIDN'T!

And there it will stay for the next couple of weeks while we kit out the workshop with benches and move tools in. I have a new plan for the level measuring platform, just need to clear it with our landlord as it involves making a concrete pad. :)

some wooden shuttering with DPC and self levelling on top should give you a decent level surface without being permanent :)

What I'd give for a workshop that big!

It would be full of "projects" too quick though.

Mei is right re. the concrete pad. Seen that done before. Whilst it will be level though, it won't be like glass.

Nah, gonna use concrete for a base then levelling compound on top, it will be smooth enough for my needs (hopefully). :)
