Inlet And Exhaust Valves

Recommended Posts

spike

I've just priced up some valves for an xu10j4rs (306 gti6) from Peugeot dealer.

Inlet £25.45

Exhaust £35.97

Plus vat!!!

I need to know where to buy OE spec valves without paying OE spec prices!

I've used some aftermarket valves in a TU race engine and wasn't very impressed when the valve head fell off one of them.

So it would be usefull if you could recommend a supplier that you actually have experience of having used there product, ideally in a competition engine.

Many thanks

Mike Geen

They're TRW as original equipment if that helps, I priced them at around £10 each when I looked to get a tapper fixed.

Not out of business as such, just split to 3 different businesses, links are on the QEP page http://www.q-e-p.co.uk/

Matt runs Catcams uk, one of the other guys does engines, not sure on the KMS link.

Oh fair enough.. I'm sure Matt can still get hold of well priced parts though, right?

I used to get my vauxhall one piece race valves from Paul Ivey at Race Engine Components.

Google him (if you can't find details I'll dig out his number).

Great bloke.

Those that have been to Autosport for years will know him.

He makes valves to any spec, and supplies to many prestige race teams.

I am assuming he does the pug valves as not bought any from him, but defo worth a call though.

But...... he is a really nice bloke, and old school (he knows all the elite british part manufactures personally), and knows more about engines than most tuners, so if anyone does call him please treat him with respect he has earned.

I spoke to the chaps at Race Engine Components down at Autosport show.

They couldn't give me a price whilst i was at the show but they assured me they wouldn't be more than £17 each!!

So thanks for the info.

Cheers

Mike
