Cabin Heating Control Problem

Recommended Posts

sceptre

The heating direction control on my 205 ph2 has just stopped working!

It's not too bad because so long as you are driving fast and have the fan on full it will direct the air up the windscreen, this is a little dangerous as it means i have to be travelling at 60mph plus to start demisting my screen.

I use this car for work every morning so I really want this fixed!

If I drive slower or do not put the fan on, the heat comes out of all the grilles a little.

It would be really nice to fix this but I know that the dash is a right maze so I thought I'd ask before I start stripping it back. The actual twisty control thing seems to be working still but the direction selection within the dash somewhere is not working.

Anyone else had this problem?

Where should I be looking first?

Thanks!

I had similar before, having took the controls out, behind the white panel the cable for the direction control had come out of the clip that holds the outer sheaf still so the cable moved without doing anything to the ducting vents.

Hope that's a start

thanks for the quick response alphacharlie, I'll check that out first. Would be excellent if that is the issue, I don't really want to have to remove the whole dash this weekend.

Any guides on here for removing the dash? I always seem to break something using the haynes instructions...
